Search Engine Optimization
Search Engine Ranking
Search Engine Optimization is one of the most important parts of the website building experience. Information you place here will be used by search engine companies such as Google, Bing, and Yahoo to rank your website by relativity to the terms being searched.
Default meta tag data
- Web Site Title: This will be displayed at the top of the browser window on all pages of your site.
- Web Site Keywords: This is a Meta Tag that some search engines use to search your site with. Please enter each keyword separated by a comma. There is no need to use line feeds or carriage returns in the field.
- Web Site Description: This is a Meta Tag that helps search engines classify your web site. This should be a small sentence that describes your site.
- Miscellaneous SEO-related Preferences: This switch allows the website menu links to "home" to be replaced with the domain root URL. For best results, the default position for this switch is "Yes".
Per-Page Meta Tags
This area also shows a list of all your site pages and lets you enter individual meta tag data for them, instead of the defaults. Note: This has the same effect as entering the meta tag data for a page under its Page Properties.
